BINTM, Clothes Show Live and a little update!

Ok, so a few weeks ago we went to Britain and Irelands next top model show at the Excel Centre in London, which was inspirational!

Today we are off to the Clothes Show Live at the NEC in Birmingham.  This is the first time we have been to the Clothes Show and it's all quite exciting!

On top of all of this it is the first weekend in December so everything is turning very chaotic both with work and with social events!

I've been quite lazy updating my blog over the last month, bookings have been flowing in and workload seems to have gone crazy - so  I do apologise and one of my new years resolutions is to blog  lot more regularly!

I will also be updating my blog with a few pictures and some information from BINTM Live and of course our visit to the Clothes Show Live today!

Special offer!  We are holding our prices for any Wedding booked before February 28th  2012. Thats right, you can get your wedding next year for this years price!  Please drop us an email to discuss your requirements!

X Factor 2011 Show 1

Ok so the X Factor started its live shows this week, I’m kind of torn on the whole subject of this show, whilst I think it’s good Saturday night entertainment for the masses, I also think that there are ALOT of singers and bands out there that are doing it the hard way and don’t get the credit they deserve!  (ok rant over)

Onto some of the amazing make up and clothing on the show.

Amelia Lily kicked off the show with Billie Jean, not totally convinced on the styling but the pink lipstick rocked as did her performance!

Frankie Cocozza – The A Team – quite like this cheeky little chappy, not only was his styling spot on (sod what the judges say eyeliner it up baby!), look forward to hearing more.

Rythmix – Superbass some of the transformations in this group have been great – in particular I’m not sure on names but the girl who had half her hair shaved off -hair looked fabulous!

Misha B – Rolling In The Deep – this performance was brilliant! It had everything, styling, stage show, make up and the voice.  Brace song choice as well.  I want that chair for my studio! I look forward to seeing and hearing more from that young lady! Mischa B’s union jack style nails – feature in Rimmel’s  new Brit collection.

Sophie Habibis – Teenage Dream, what a performance and transformation! Stunning!  And great version of the song, I think I prefer it to the original.  Interesting performer.

Janet Devlin – Fix You. Quirky and there is something quite loveable about this girl.

I really don’t get the act 2 shoes – not my cup of tea, or coffee!  The same goes for Johnny Robinson really.  James Michael to me doesn’t sound anything special.  Nu Vibe just seem like a right jumble sale of an act to be honest, really don’t get them!

So thats the first show over and done with!  A few good performance but on the whole not that impressive if you ask me (not that you did but I’ll chuck in my opinion anyhow!lol!)

We’ve had a busy few days, full of weddings, fancy dress and twin babies!

We’ll upload some of the images soon!

All the best!

Love Music Love Food: The Rock Star Cookbook

Love Music Love Food: The Rock Star Cookbook by Patrice de Villiers (Author), Andrew Harrison (Author), Sarah Muir (Author)

Hardcover: 240 pages    Publisher: Quadrille Publishing Ltd (5 Sep 2011)

“This collection of portraits has been created in the name of Teenage Cancer Trust and predominantly features those artists who have supported the charity over the years, whether taking part in the annual Royal Albert Hall shows, visiting wards, donating a multitude of gifts from signed amps to signed sunglasses or getting involved in projects such as Love Music Love Food. Artists new to the charity have become involved with the project and their relationship with Teenage Cancer Trust started here at Love Music Love Food. It's a great testament to Teenage Cancer Trust that these artists feel passionately about supporting the charity to the point that they'll be smothered in Marmite, have their knees nibbled by sheep, cuddle chickens or get pelted with Dayglo cupcakes to help make a difference. We salute and thank you for being a part of this project. Dig in to the food that makes the stars shine - starring Brett Anderson, Johnny Borrell, Buzzcocks, Biffy Clyro, Roger Daltrey CBE, Brandon Flowers, Noel Gallagher, Ellie Goulding, Professor Green, Mick Hucknall, Kelly Jones, Alex Kapranos, Kasabian, Juliette Lewis, Madness, Mani, Brian May, Paul Oakenfold, Sir Cliff Richard, Francis Rossi OBE, Siouxsie Sioux, Sugababes, Tinie Tempah, Bullet For My Valentine, White Lies, We Are Scientists, Paul Weller, Rob Zombie & many more. “

This book is truly inspirational.  Filled with amazing images, cleverly thought out, and executed to perfection!

You can purchase this book directly from http://www.teenagecancertrustshop.org/products/Love-Music-Love-Food.html for the bargain price of £30!  The quality of this book is outstanding, and proceeds go to the Teenage Cancer Trust which is a very worthy cause.

You can also purchase prints of selected images from this book from the website ;

Personally I think the best image in this book is a picture of Coco Sumner, musician and model (daughter of Sting and Trudi Styler).

Coco Sumner loves eggy soldiers

Progressing my photographic development!

So we’ve been pretty hectic over the last few weeks and we will be updating the blog on all the latest goings on over the next week or so, but firstly I wanted to update everyone with the news that as part of progressing my photographic development, I spent two days information packed days in the lovely town of Thame on a wedding photography course.

The course was located at the Spread Eagle in Thame (wonderful place if you are in that area and get the chance to visit then you will not be dissapointed!) and was presented by the fabulous David Pearce (check out his website www.openleafimages.com), and I’ve quite literally come out of the two days inspired, enthused and more importantly a better photographer.  I’m always of the opinion that if you think you know everything, then usually you don’t!  I love to be learning all the time!  It was not only seminar based but also practical as well, absolutely brilliant, and hopefully you’ll see a great improvement in my work as a result!

Here are a couple of images from the day of the lovely Fiona and David;

For more information on any of the courses available please visit;

well worth the money, Rock It Up Photography gives it 5 stars!

All the best!

Dirty Sexy Things

“Dirty Sexy Things comes to E4 this summer with a line up of eight beautiful models ready to bare all for an eight-week project led by noted fashion photographer, Perou
Perou, who previously graced TV screens on both the UK and US versions of Make Me a Supermodel, sets out to create a series of stunning photographs which will challenge his own abilities as well as pushing our models to the extreme.
By following what goes on in front of and behind the camera lens, this brand new concept-doc gets under the skin of modelling and reveals what life is like as a living beauty commodity. Is it one big glamorous party or a battle to stay on top?”

I have to say I thought this show was great – just the right mixture of fun, information and entertainment.

Models Ariella, BB, Charlotte, Jay, Jessye B, Jesse, Ocean, and Rob work with the awesome internationally acclaimed photographer, Perou.  Fab series adnfor those that have watched it my favourite episodes were the heroes and villains shoot and the fish shoot.  Some amazing ideas and the leading models in each of those episodes Ocean and Charlotte were simply inspiring!

For all those who didn’t see it you can still see the last few episodes on 4 OD

Clara Maidment is Perou’s First Assistant and she has written a behind the scenes blog which if you’re a fan of the show is well worth a read.

On the work front for us, it’s been very busy!  Weddings, vampire shoots, family shoots are keeping us on our toes!

We have also opened up our own facebook fan page, please come and ‘like’ us!

Lots more news soon!  Keep tuned!!!

Vampires

Whether it be Bela Lugosi playing Dracula or Bella Swan in Twilight vampires are and have always been a huge part of the movie industry and culture in general.

So we at Rock It Up Photography along with Rachael and Jane from the Toni and Guy salon in Oxford took on the challenge with models Laura and Melissa to create a vampire inspired shoot.

Here’s a couple of before, during and after images of both models taken via my iphone to give you a sneak preview of the images to expect over the next few weeks.

Laura and Melissa Before, During, After!

Needless to say both models looked fab, and totally took on the role of blood thirsty, moody vampires, thank you for a great effort team!  Images will be coming up as soon as possible!
